OUR MISSION

Electric Marshmallow Productions started as a dream. Two GenX poor kids from the Midwest with a wealth of talent set out to make the television they wanted to see for themselves. From a nyoung age, the founders of EMP spent their days spinning tales of intrigue, fantasy, and drama. With an unrelenting drive for inclusion, this duo set out to study television representation to find out what was missing.

As the cofounders of FilmDis (link to filmdis.com), a media monitoring group studying representation on television, Ashtyn Law and Dom Evans spent endless hours watching, analyzing, and picking apart marginalized representation on television between 2018 and 2022. This information gave them a blueprint for what's missing on television. They also were simultaneously listening to what audiences were saying they wanted to see on television when it comes to representation. Two people can't watch 250 shows a year themselves, and not understand how television works or where storytelling is lacking. Thus began three intense years of writing, developing, editing, and workshopping television shows. They now have close to 20 television pilots they feel encapsulate many of the stories that are missing from the media. The current goal is to start producing these television shows and that is where Electric Marshmallow Productions is in the process currently.

It started with, The Park, a slice of life dramedy, set in a trailer park in the 1980s, but now includes shows that span a variety of genres including fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, horror, YA Adventure, and more. At the end of the day, EMP is in the business of making good television. The mission is simple and will remain consistent.
